Our Medical Staffing Business Principles
Staff Care has grown because of our adherence to the fundamentals of physician staffing and an underlying commitment to client and provider service. We began in 1991 as a small division of Merritt, Hawkins and Associates, the nation's leading permanent placement physician search firm. Staff Care now employs more
than 450 recruitment and service professionals located in Irving, Texas and Salt Lake City, Utah. Staff Care currently works with thousands of healthcare providers: physicians in all specialties, Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNA), physician assistants and more. However, none of these tangible symbols of success are as substantial or important as the ideas that brought them into being. Staff Care owes its existence to the principles shared by its people.
Integrity
This is the primary quality of all professional firms. Our medical staffing business is endorsed by 20 state hospital associations that offer such endorsements—19 more than our closest competitor. In order to achieve this endorsement record, Staff Care submitted to a due diligence process, including client reference checks, financial stability checks, conflict of interest checks, comparisons to competitors and checks to assure IRS, HHS and Stark II compliance. We also answer to our clients, state organizations and physicians on a daily basis.
Commitment to Excellence
Endorsements merely confirm our longstanding commitment to customer service in the physician staffing industry. Clients and providers rely on us to exceed their expectations—even under extraordinary conditions. In the spring of 2001, for example, a facility in Washington, D.C., contacted Staff Care to help find a
primary care physician to fill three days at the White House.
The project date was two days away. Staff Care sourced, qualified and scheduled a physician with a D.C. license
who could pass White House security and met the project deadline.
Staff Care completes 60 percent of the temporary physician staffing assignments undertaken, compared to an industry
average of 42 percent. We also complete over 70 percent of CRNA searches
(compared to an industry average of 59 percent).
Expertise
We continually strive to improve our extensive knowledge of the medical staffing business in order to
better serve our clients and educate the healthcare industry.
Staff Care conducts independent surveys of providers and healthcare administrators.
We publish the annual Review of Temporary Healthcare Staffing Trends as a benchmarking tool for
both physician and mid-level staffing. We also publish a Market Analysis and Executive Summary each year,
assessing the state of the temporary staffing industry and key indicators for the future.
Staff Care is cited in numerous prestigious publications every year.
Our comments on industry trends and issues appear in such publications and electronic outlets as the
Wall Street Journal, Modern Healthcare, Hospitals & Health Networks,
CNN, USA Today, The New York Times, Medical Economics,
Group Practice Journal and
RSNA News. In addition, our Business Development Department conducts
educational seminars for state and local healthcare organizations and addresses
national healthcare conferences. Staff Care also sponsors the prestigious
Country Doctor of the Year Award.
Innovation
Staff Care constantly challenges conventional healthcare industry practices, whether by building a Web site that attracts 15,000 unique visitors each month or by maintaining high standards of quality as medical malpractice costs increase. Staff Care has created specialty-specific divisions, including
Primary Care,
Surgery,
Behavioral Health,
Radiology,
and Anesthesiology. This organization allows our
physician staffing consultants to develop deeper networks and knowledge of
specialized markets.
Professionalism
We are medical staffing business consultants. Professional maturity and demeanor guide our decisions.
Our executive and divisional leadership accounts for more than 200 years of temporary healthcare staffing
experience. Accordingly, we assess the demand for locum tenens physicians and associated providers in
terms of patient migration, revenue flow, patient care, census levels and the threat of staff burnout due
to 'cross-coverage' during staffing shortages. In addition, we know that the cost/benefit ratio of
temporary coverage varies according to practice setting, specialty, procedures and other factors.
If your facility is losing revenue due to the shortage of qualified physicians, submit your
medical staffing needs to Staff Care today.
