It’s that time of the year again when individuals have the opportunity to nominate a physician in their hospital that they believe goes above and beyond their every day duties in serving others. The Country Doctor of the Year Award, presented by Staff Care, Inc., honors the spirit, skill and dedication of America’s rural medical practitioners. Previous recipients of this award have even been featured on national news casts, including USA Today, People, Parade and The Today Show.
The physician that receives the Country Doctor of the Year award will be provided with a temporary physician from Staff Care for two weeks at no charge — a service valued at $10,000. According to Staff Care President, Sean Ebner, rural physicians have a difficult time finding physicians to cover their practices making it difficult to plan vacation time, which makes this award desirable to any physician working in a rural community.
Physicians being nominated for the award must practice in rural communities and engage in primary care areas, such as general practice, family practice, internal medicine and pediatrics. Friends, patients, co-workers or family members are both welcomed and encouraged to nominate a physician they feel should be recognized for the Country Doctor of the Year award.
If you wish to send in a nomination, visit our Country Doctor of the Year page or call Staff Care at (800)-685-2272 to receive a nomination form. Send in your completed nomination forms no later than October 21, 2014!
