Employee Spotlight: Antoine Garnett, Sr. Recruiting Consultant

Antoine Garnett of Staff Care

Antoine Garnett works with such joy it’s contagious.

Being a Recruiter at Staff Care for six years, Antoine wears a smile on his face every day, eager to work and ready to start the day at full steam.

With the combination of a sociology degree and a joyful disposition, it’s easy to see how Antoine has made a successful career in recruiting. Unsurprisingly, he is a self-proclaimed “Chatty Cathy” with genuine people skills. His positive energy and willingness to lend a helping hand has earned him the respect and admiration of the staff and the physicians he serves.

Currently residing in Fort Worth, TX, Antoine enjoys the outdoors and the occasional bike ride. But time is precious when you’re a full-time husband and father of four children (two boys and two girls). Nevertheless, Antoine always makes time for his best friend and loyal companion, Boss, an eight-year-old American Pit Bull Terrier.

What type of recruitment do you specialize in?

My focus is providing job opportunities for physicians that are fresh out of residency, in between positions, heading into retirement, looking to travel or just ultimately looking for a change.

What do you look forward to the most coming to work every day?

I strive to create new relationships every day and that’s what I look forward to most. All day long, I get to talk to different people with a variety of backgrounds and experiences. My conversations with physicians are always so interesting.

Some of my happiest moments come from placing physicians on assignments and they return with a life-touching story to share. I have also had physicians tell me about tough times they’re going through and basically just needing a new start. In fact, practicing empathy with individuals I work with has been an unexpected perk.

Before working at Staff Care, what was the most unusual or interesting job you've ever had?

I worked at Enterprise Rent-A-Car for two years. The company’s customer service training program was actually very beneficial to what I do now at Staff Care.

What would people never guess that you do in your role?

Quite a bit of paper work and constant judgment calls — not to mention the 70 to 80 phone calls that I make per day.

One thing I learned immediately when I became a recruiter is that you've got to put your whole self into it. When you work toward creating a great bond, those physicians will work with you forever. When you show heart and talk to physicians openly, it results in a strong professional relationship. When you successfully please one customer, that person will say good things to others about your company

That’s my mindset when I’m training other recruiters — It’s all about establishing relationships and bonds. I can call up doctors that I haven’t worked with in years who still remember me, which makes me feel really good.
