Staff Care Sponsors National Health Center Week
Staff Care lends support to National Health Center Week, “Engines for Healthier Communities”
IRVING, TX -- August 7, 2014 -- Staff Care, the nation’s leading temporary healthcare staffing firm and a company of AMN Healthcare, is lending its support to National Health Center Week, August 10 - 16, 2014, a nationwide event recognizing the key contributions to quality, accessible care made by America’s Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs).
As a sponsor of the event, Staff Care will be supporting celebration activities at two FQHCs, including Family Health Center in Kalamazoo, Michigan and Sea Mar Community Health Center in Seattle, Washington. Activities at the two FQHCs will feature health fairs, children’s games, and various educational and vendor booths. Staff Care executives will speak on the central role FQHCs play in providing quality, affordable care to medically underserved populations. The firm’s Bronze National Health Center Week sponsorship, made to the National Association of Community Health Centers (NACHC), will help forward the vital work FQHCs do providing healthcare services through thousands of sites across the country.
“We are proud to be a part of efforts to recognize the key role FQHCs play in providing high-quality, accessible care to underserved populations,” said Bonnie Britton, senior vice president of Staff Care. “That role will only expand as more patients seek out care that is local, reliable, and affordable.”
National Health Center Week offers healthcare organizations, care givers, businesses, civic leaders and others an opportunity to recognize the contributions of the nation’s 1,200 health center organizations, which offer services through some 6,600 delivery sites across the country. These sites provide mostly primary care for over 20 million patients a year, with a goal of providing care for over 30 million by 2015, and are known as “engines for healthier communities.”
NACHC acts as the professional education and advocacy association for the health centers and helps organize National Health Center Week. According to Britton, Staff Care is NACHC’s preferred partner for locum tenens physician and advanced practitioner staffing and has provided hundreds of temporary clinicians to FQHCs nationwide.
