In/Out Patient Psychiatrist needed in Iowa
Iowa licensed psychiatrist needed for In and Outpatient coverage in Waterloo seeing patients of all ages. Start September for ongoing coverage as facility recruits new provider!
Patient population is 12 years to geriatrics as coverage is needed in all three units: Adolescents, adult and geriatrics.
Locums is to cover outpatient duties (medication management (15 minutes), evaluations (30-60 minutes) and follow up visits) one day then help out in the inpatient units. Rounding, admissions and discharges part of inpatient duties.
Mondays-Fridays; 40 hour work week. 1:5 weekday and weekend call available.
Geriatric unit houses a 15-bed acute, inpatient senior behavioral health unit. Features include: 24-hour admission, discharge planning, comprehensive medical and psychiatric evaluation, medical management of psychiatric disorders, medication management and education, individualized treatment planning, neuropsychological testing, individual, group and family therapy, therapeutic exercise, stress management, activity-based therapy groups, spiritual counseling, community resource linkage, and occupational and physical therapy.
Adolescent program is an evaluation program that provides hope and support to troubled teenagers (12-18 years old) and their families. Comprehensive help is available in dealing with family issues, substance abuse, eating disorders, sexual dysfunction and depression.
Required Special Certifications/Registrations:
Federal DEA and State of Iowa Controlled Substance Prescribing Authority registration.
- Providers must provide evidence of and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. BLS will be waived for providers who provide evidence of current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS). In the event certification expires, providers will be asked to provide a current BLS as the default request.
