Anesthesia & Radiology Recruitment Leadership Spotlight: Nicole Richardson

Working as a director for any specialty at Staff Care requires one important characteristic: passion. In a rapidly growing, fast-paced industry like locum recruitment, a consistent driver for success is being passionate about leading our team of recruiters and representatives.

This is especially true for Nicole Richardson, who leads our Locum Tenens Anesthesia, CRNA and Radiology, recruitment divisions. Just one year into the role, Nicole is relatively new to our team. Nonetheless, she’s quickly adapted to the locum recruitment industry, successfully leading her team to meet the ever-growing demands for locum tenens radiology and anesthesia professionals.

Recruitment Success Built On Experience & ‘Getting to Know’ Providers

Nicole’s instant success in her leadership role at Staff Care stems directly from her extensive, 15-year career in recruiting.

“I used to work more in recruiting for office administrative finance and accounting, but after years of that, I began looking for something new, and more exciting,” Nicole told the Staff Care Insider. “One of my friends recommended looking into healthcare staffing and I thought that would be a great thing to pursue. And here I am!”

It was immediately apparent that locum tenens recruitment was a great fit for Nicole, with its ever-changing nature and high levels of excitement successfully keeping her on her toes.

Locum tenens recruitment “is very dynamic,” Nicole said. “We work with healthcare providers from all over the U.S., with all different backgrounds, specialties, and cultures, so it’s just never boring.”

Nicole also appreciates communicating with providers who have been working with her team members for an extended period of time.

“I really enjoy getting to know the providers that have been working with us for a long time and continue to look to us for more opportunities,” she said, adding, “Hearing how much they enjoy working with my team brings me so much satisfaction and pride for each of my team members.”

Leading Through A Willingness To Learn & Embrace New Ideas

Because Nicole is relatively new to Staff Care, she’s found herself consistently learning from her team members. She’s also found the opportunity to teach new ideas that she picked up from her long experience in recruitment.

“I love being in a leadership role and partnering with my team to think of new ideas, learning the ins and outs through their eyes, how they work with their providers, and the new ideas and perspective they offer,” she said, adding, “We have a very mutually beneficial relationship, where I teach my team members and they teach me, as well.”

When she’s not busy leading her team members to achieve their goals, Nicole enjoys spending time with her husband and two boys, who she says is the driving force behind her success.

“My husband and two boys are everything. They are the support system behind the work I do every day, and I couldn’t imagine life without them.”

So how do Nichole and her family keep busy in and around their Carrollton, Texas home? Her sons’ activities and spending time outdoors top the list of favorite pastimes, Nicole told us.

“When I’m not at the baseball field with my 13 and 11-year-old sons, I love doing outdoor activities like hiking, skiing, fishing, camping — anything to do with the outdoors!”
