Staff Care has announced the extension of the deadline for the 2015 Country Doctor of the Year Award until December 31, 2015.
Presented each year to the physician "who best exemplifies the spirit, skill and dedication of America’s rural medical practitioners," Staff Care's Country Doctor of the Year is marking its 20th year in 2015.
The first Country Doctor of the Year was granted in 1995 to John Harlan Haynes, M.D., or Vivian. Louisiana. Described as "a cross between Marcus Welby and Daniel Boone," Dr. Haynes is credited with having saved his local hospital, enabling continuity of care for the rural community he called home.
Staff Care encourages anyone with knowledge of an extraordinary physician to submit a nomination today. You can find the Country Doctor nomination form here. We also invite you to read more about the Country Doctor of the Year here.
