Welcome to our Meet the Team Spotlights at the Staff Care Locums Link Blog, where we introduce you to the world-class recruitment professionals who exemplify our commitment to providing the highest-quality staffing services for the nation's physicians and practitioners.
As Director of Recruiting for our Behavioral Health Division, Alaina Goldstein is an integral part of Staff Care’s team of seasoned recruitment professionals.
Alaina started with Staff Care in 2007 and advanced to a leadership role in 2011, with a stop in our Dentistry division along the way. The Locums Link Blog recently caught up with Alaina to talk about her career, family, motivations, and her most rewarding Staff Care moments.
“I grew up in Ennis, a small town about 30 miles south of Dallas, and went to college at the University of North Texas,” Alaina told us. “My parents still live in the same house there that they bought when I was two years old!
“I have two boys myself, and then two step-kids, so we’re always very busy. My oldest son is pretty serious about baseball so we spend a lot of our time out at the field supporting him."
Alaina has aspirations to increase that level of support and dedicate even more time helping out at her children’s schools.
“I would love to be more involved in their day-to-day life. My husband and my boys are what keep me grounded and motivated. I don’t know what I would do without them!”
Helping Careers & Building Long-Term Relationships
Alaina talked about the differences between her earlier role as a recruiter on the production floor and her current role as a recruiting director, describing some of the memorable challenges and rewards of each.
“When I was in production, I really enjoyed working with physicians and finding out how I could help them with their personal goals and where they wanted to get with their careers.
“Now, I enjoy working with my team members, helping to train and coach them through situations and helping them to accomplish their personal goals. The most rewarding part for me is just watching my team members succeed and do well every day.”
Despite this change in her daily role, Alaina still maintains some strong relationships with the physicians she’s worked with in the past.
“Back in 2010, I went to a conference in New York City,” she told us. “One of my doctors whom I’d worked with since starting at Staff Care wasn’t going to the conference, but was in Long Island at the time, and she drove into the city just to meet me.
“She was eager to meet me and hug me and tell me how much she appreciated everything I had helped her with for her career. It was really great for me because I got to see first-hand the impact that our work that we do each day has on our physicians.
“I still talk to her today even though she is now retired, and we have a great relationship!”
