Staff Care Announces Move to Expanded Facility
Accommodating Continued Growth, Leading Locum Tenens Staffing Firm to Occupy Larger Facility along with Sister Company Merritt Hawkins
IRVING, TX – Staff Care, the nation’s leading locum tenens staffing firm and a company of AMN Healthcare (NYSE: AHS), along with sister company Merritt Hawkins, has announced a move to a larger facility in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.
Previously occupying a combined 93,000 square feet in a facility in Irving, Texas, the two companies will now be housed in a complex in nearby Coppell comprising 108,000 square feet, with the option to occupy more space in the expectation of continued growth.
“Our growth and new location means more resources and more services for both our clients and the physicians, advanced practitioners and other healthcare professionals we place on temporary assignments nationwide,” Staff Care representatives announced.
“As a company of AMN Healthcare, the largest healthcare staffing organization in the United States and the innovator of healthcare workforce solutions, we offer the full range of healthcare staffing services, including permanent, temporary, and managed services capabilities.”
The two companies employ almost 700 employees, with 60 open positions currently in play, primarily in the field of physician recruitment consultants. According to Sean Ebner, president of Staff Care, the headcount of the two firms may top 800 employees in the next couple of years.
“Providing medical services is an age-old business, yet we’re seeing dramatic acceleration in the use of much more innovative techniques and a real change in thinking about how health care is delivered, top to bottom,” Mr. Ebner said.
The growth currently being experienced in the healthcare recruiting experience — and, more specifically, by locum tenens staffing and recruitment — is being driven in large part by major industry mergers (such as Baylor Health Care System and Scott & White Healthcare) as well as an increasing tendency for healthcare employers to employ “a mix of permanent and temporary physicians to flex up or down based on patient demand,” as the Dallas Business Journal explains in its coverage of the news.
Second-quarter revenue for Staff Care rose 31 percent year-over-year, and Merritt Hawkins rose 19 percent. The companies’ parent firm, AMN Healthcare, saw revenue growth of 39.5 percent in the same quarter. “Today, AMN Healthcare Services Inc. has revenues of $1.4 billion and is the largest health care staffing organization in the country as ranked by Staffing Industry Analysts,” the Dallas Business Journal adds.
