Staff Care's 2014 Country Doctor of the Year, Dr. John “Rob” Marsh, has a long list of honors to his name. In addition to being last year's Country Doctor, Dr. Marsh is known as one of the most decorated military physicians in the U.S., having received two Bronze Stars, a Purple Heart, the Legion of Merit, the Department of Defense Meritorious Service Medal and the Army Meritorious Service Medal. In addition, Dr Marsh founded the first full-service, full-time family practice clinic for Delta Force families.
While Dr. Marsh's accomplishments are remarkable in their own right, it's also true that distinguished military service runs in his family. His father, John O. Marsh Jr., was not only a World War II veteran, he was the Secretary of the Army during Ronald Reagan's presidency (1981-1989).
Upon Dr. Marsh's winning of the Country Doctor Award in December, 2014, the U.S. military's Stars and Stripes publication caught up with Former Secretary Marsh to get his opinions on his son's achievement. He also gives a bit of background into Dr. Marsh's career. Check it out at YouTube or watch it below. And you can read more about Dr. Rob Marsh, Staff Care's 2014 Country Doctor of the Year, here.
